Programme Overview

Researches at IIED have shown that agriculture makes up approximately 65% of Africa’s labour force and 35% of the continent’s GDP. The agriculture sector’s capacity to help realize major continental development priorities is beyond doubt. However, the agricultural industry in many African countries and communities has been unable to meet its full productivity potential as an employer, a fair distributor of income and a national revenue earner.

For the first time in Africa,  Federated Africa will host this ‘must attend’ agriculture summit intended for Government/Provincial/Regional Agriculture Policy Makers/Regulators and Authorities, banks, micro-lenders, commodity traders and brokers, agriculture economists, engineers, bio-technologists, extension officers, investors, donors, farmers, agriculture equipment and machinery companies, seeds, stock and farm inputs suppliers to have a frank, face-to-face debate on how to transform the agriculture industry sector in Africa
