Water Distribution/Supply Rehabilitation & Reconstruction

Overview

Rapid urbanisation and growing water demand have made the management of water supply operations much more complex. Forecasts claim that by 2030, there will be a 40 per cent gap between water demand and supply in Africa. In light of this, utilities in most countries in the region have been taking steps to enhance their treatment capacity, reduce water losses, improve revenue collection, deploy advanced technologies and rehabilitate old pipelines.

Currently, water utilities in South Africa and on the continent are at a critical juncture. They are planning to upgrade the existing infrastructure to serve the expanding population and curb water wastage. Meanwhile, governments and policymakers are undertaking a number of big-projects and measures to improve regional water security and self-sufficiency. Thus, the sector offers tremendous opportunities for contractors, developers, technology solution providers, equipment suppliers, and project management consultants.

This 2- day event will delve on water distribution systems rehabilitation and reconstruction. It will also focus on the current trends and emerging technologies for smart leak detection, metering and billing solutions and water treatment technologies among other exciting topics.
